I remembered back in the days when GNS was still active, nobody outside of The Forge liked GNS, cause that's just one guy trying to categorized what he wanted into tight little packages that worked for him., and that led to 3 groups of people in that forum who kept saying theirs was the
One True Way(tm) and etc. ~~~=3=~~~
(At the time The Forge was more about
people talking about how games were like then
people whose actually playing games.

)
I'd just skip all the theories and the reddits, cause that's usually too many things you don't actually need, and make you just as lost as Ron and his lost long-version GNS which was about vampiric brain-rot when you played too many vampire games or something.
Knowing all those bits can help you theorycrafting and become a TRPG historian, but it doesn't necessary get you game.
Play dozens of systems that are actually different, and learn how to be GM, would actually be the most straightforward way to design the game you want.
